Crossed Signals Events
Couples’ Retreats, Seminars & Workshops
Not therapy. Not a lecture. Something in between, and sometimes, exactly what you need.
Experiential learning experiences for ADHD and neurodiverse couples who want more than information, but may not be looking for a full couples intensive.

The problem
Sometimes You Don’t Need More Therapy. You Need a Different Kind of Experience.
You’ve read the articles. Maybe you’ve listened to the podcasts. You understand, at least intellectually, that ADHD affects your relationship. But understanding it and feeling it shift between you and your partner are two very different things.
Crossed Signals retreats, seminars, and workshops are designed for couples where ADHD is part of the picture and where you’re ready for something more than information, but maybe are notlooking for (or aren’t ready for) a full couples intensive.
These are group experiences, grounded in the same clinical framework as the book, where you and your partner can learn together, reflect together, and start to see your cycle from a new vantage point surrounded by other couples who get it.

What We Offer
Crossed Signals Couples’ Retreats
Multi-day, small-group retreat experiences held in intimate settings away from the noise of daily life. Retreats combine psychoeducation about the ADHD-attachment cycle with guided couple exercises, group reflection, and time for you and your partner to reconnect — without the pressure of a therapy session.
Retreats are experiential. You won’t spend the whole weekend sitting in a conference room taking notes. There’s teaching, yes — but there’s also space to be with your partner in a way that your regular life rarely allows. Time to slow down. Time to actually hear each other.
These retreats draw on the Crossed Signals framework and on the Hold Me Tight model developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, adapted specifically for couples living with ADHD.

Crossed Signals Seminars
Half-day and full-day seminars for couples who want a focused, structured learning experience. Seminars are psychoeducational — meaning the focus is on helping you understand your cycle, not on doing live therapy work in front of a group.
Seminars cover:
- How ADHD traits interact with attachment needs to create the “crossed signals” cycle
- Why common relationship advice doesn’t work (and what to try instead)
- The emotional experience of both the ADHD and non-ADHD partner
- Practical tools for interrupting your cycle at home
Seminars are offered both in-person in the Los Angeles area and virtually. They’re a good entry point if you’re newer to this framework or if you want to learn before committing to deeper work.
Crossed Signals Workshops
Interactive, hands-on workshops that go deeper than seminars. Workshops include guided couple exercises where you’ll practice identifying your cycle in real time and experiment with new ways of responding to each other.
Workshops are limited to small groups to allow for a more personal experience. While they are not therapy, they are clinically informed and designed to create the kind of emotional safety that makes real learning possible.
Workshops may be offered as standalone events or as part of larger conferences and community events.
Who These Experiences Are For
Crossed Signals retreats, seminars, and workshops are for couples where ADHD is part of the relationship — whether in one partner or both, diagnosed or suspected. They’re a good fit if:
- You want to understand how ADHD is affecting your relationship but aren’t sure you need therapy
- You’re already in couples therapy and want to supplement your work with a deeper understanding of the ADHD-attachment cycle
- You’ve finished therapy and want a “tune-up” or a way to keep growing together
- You want to connect with other couples who share similar experiences — because feeling like you’re the only ones dealing with this is its own kind of loneliness
- You’re curious about the Crossed Signals framework and want to experience it before committing to an intensive
These group experiences are not a substitute for couples therapy and are not appropriate for relationships in active crisis or involving safety concerns.
More than information. Gentler than an intensive.
What Makes These Different from Other Couples Events
Most couples retreats and workshops are designed for general relationship enrichment. There’s nothing wrong with that but if ADHD is a factor in your relationship, a general approach will only take you so far.
Crossed Signals events are built on a clinical framework that specifically addresses how ADHD neurobiology shapes emotional connection between partners. The teaching, the exercises, and the language we use all reflect the reality of what it’s actually like to love someone whose brain works differently from yours or to be that person.
You won’t hear advice like “just set more reminders” or “try being more patient.” You’ll hear someone name the thing you’ve been living but couldn’t put into words.
